Corinne Phelan

Co-Owner

Horticulturist

Corinne grew up around plants — her mother was a landscape designer, and some of Corinne’s earliest work was alongside her, learning the fundamentals of good design and plant care. That early foundation led her to study fine art in college and work in greenhouses and with multiple landscaping companies, eventually shaping a path that blends creativity with ecological responsibility.

Corinne holds a Certificate in Native Plants and Ecological Horticulture from Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, where her commitment to environmentally responsible gardening deepened. She believes gardens can be beautiful andmeaningful — places where design meets habitat, and where native plants can thrive in harmony with the local environment.

Her work is grounded in research, observation, and a respect for place. Every design she creates is informed by site-specific needs — soil, light, moisture, existing plant communities — and guided by a larger mission: to restore ecological balance, support pollinators, and create gardens that give back.

As co-owner of Restful Roots LLC, Corinne brings meticulous attention to detail, long-term vision, and a genuine desire to help clients feel both heard and guided. Outside the garden, she spends time painting, working in her vegetable patch, and unwinding with friends after a day in the dirt.
